Monday Aftermath (Monday 21st July)

Awoke early again, showered and went down to a buffet breakfast where I found myself sharing a toaster with two West Ham players and one of the other coaches. We had a nice chat to the guy we had seen stalking the lobby the day before with his face painted with the St George's Cross. He looked pretty nice without it though, and turned out to be an American, which came as a surprise. (West Ham beat Columbus Crew by the way). We chatted for a while, particularly about Arsenal (my team) and I explained that I had kind of lost interest since Emanuel Petit left the club, (lol).
Poor Nancy! (but actually she was fine, she liked looking at all the players sexy legs)

After breakfast we checked out and went to the airport. No problems with security this time, so we went through and plugged in the laptop in the waiting area and checked out some photos of the previous nights show, linked from WOWAY. Fantastic!

The flight back was routine by now. Flying is just like being on a train.

On the way home, we stopped at a Post Office, a car wash, a drive-thru dry cleaning place (yes really) and the grocery store.
Back "home" felt very flat and silent after all the excitement of the gig and the hotel, but tbh Columbus on a Sunday is SHUT. Not even a Starbucks open.
Bored indoors, we went out for a Rita's Water ice, and walked Dixie out through the woods which was very pleasant, then later to a diner where Nancy ordered me a "Chocolate Pudding" and a Root Beer Float. The root beer was OK, the taste reminded me of dental tooth polish.. which Nancy thought was really funny until we looked up the ingredients of root beer on the web and discovered it is indeed a common flavouring used in dental products like toothpaste and tooth polish. The "Chocolate Pudding" was an abomination before God tbh. How anyone could actually classify that as food is somewhat beyond me. I suppose its fairly close to what we in the UK would call Blancmange (which is a similarly unpleasant melee of cornstarch and E Numbers)
Absolutely vile beyond belief and it did not get eaten, which is a miracle considering that I normally adore all things chocolatey… (actually it wasn't very chocolatey either)

Back to Nancy's to pack a bag for Scranton and the next bit of this epic saga. Had a relatively early night .
